SOUTH CRANBERRY LAKE ASSOCIATION
GUIDELINES
RULES AND REGULATIONS

- There is to be “no wake” speed (5 miles per hour) in
the canal.
-
No high speed
boating is allowed on the lake from 7:30 pm until 11:00 am (including jet
skis).
A. Speed
boats shall be operated in a responsible manner. Ski hours are from 11:00
am to 7:30 pm only.
B. Speed limit is 8 miles per hour during non-ski hours.
- No animals are allowed on the beach, in the park area
or in the water in the swim area.
- No motorized vehicles are allowed in the beach area,
the park area, or on either shore of the canal.
- There is to be no parking of cars, campers, or trailers
on the approach to the boat ramp. Please pull your vehicle clear after
launching to leave room for the others.
- There shall be no launching of boats or parking of any
type of vehicle in Oak shores canal area. All boats are to be launched at
the boat ramp only.
- There shall be no launching of boats or parking (except
authorized vehicles) in the park area or along the easement to the park
area.
- No firing of firearms is permitted in the cottage area,
canal area, or lake area.
- Those who rent out or loan their cottage must see that
it is properly maintained, and that the occupants abide by the guidelines
and by-laws of the South Cranberry Lake Property Owners Association.
- Beach and picnic areas are to be used by homeowners and
their guests only, and care taken to keep areas neat and clean.
- No throwing of trash or stones in streets, canal or
lake.
- Swimming areas shall be clearly marked, and boats must
keep 100 feet away from them. Swimmers please stay within the buoys.
- Boat docks/ spaces are regulated by the Association.
All property owners must contact the current Association Boat dock/space
log coordinator for approval prior to replacing or changing boat
docks/spaces.
- Boat spaces are to be a maximum of 8 feet wide. For
boats other than pontoons a dock up to 2 feet wide may be placed within
the 8 foot space.
- To accommodate pontoon boats, dock up to 2 feet wide
may be placed 8 feet across the shoreline with no dock extending out into
the water.
- Boat stakes and docks must be well maintained and
clearly marked with lot number and ob for Oak Beach or OS for Oak shores
Subdivision. Boat stakes must be at least 18 inches high.
- There is to be no burning of any kind on beach or park
area except in the designated fire pit located near the water on the
Clubhouse side of the beach.
- Picnic tables shall be placed on the grass areas only
and are not permitted in the water.
- The recreational area is for the pleasure of the
property owners and their guests. Foul language and disorderly conduct
will not be permitted.
- When leaving the beach or park area, take all of your
belongings with you, and please place any and all garbage in the
trashcans.
- Speed limit in the subdivision is 25 miles per hour
except where posted speed is 15 miles per hour.
- Beach hours are 9:00 am to 11:00 pm (closed after 11:00
pm)
- Clubhouse hall rental is available to all property
owners. Association members and non-members may contact Bonnie Foote,
Treasurer, 539-6153 for rental fees, information and date availability.
FRIENDLY REMINDERS
- State regulations mandate that the registration for
your boat must be on the person or in the boat at all times while the boat
is in operation on the lake or in the canal. You will receive a violation
ticket if the registration is not available when a boat is stopped by the
Sheriff's Department.
- A life preserver must be available for each occupant in
the boat.
- A boat must have at least two occupants while pulling a
skier or tuber.
- No boats are allowed within 100 feet of the swimming
area.
- No burning of leaves, branches or rubbish on windy days
or when restricted. No burning of garbage.
